Worship services at Laurel are uplifting and positive. Each week, we use this time together to reflect inward and to re-establish our connection to God, to each other and to our community.
Our goal with every service is to provide a fresh start, a turning point where you can refresh your spirit and begin anew.
We invite you to join us this Sunday.
July 11 - August 15 we are enjoying the atmosphere of worship at The Hoogland Center for the Arts, 420 S. Sixth St., Springfield, IL
At the Hoogland, nursery and childcare will be available, an elevator is located on the main entrance level, and the parking garage to the north of the Center is available to park in at no cost.
Worship Service Options
8:30 - 9:15 a.m. Jazz Style Services, featuring God’s House Band
9:30 a.m. Traditional Service, featuring the Laurel Chorale
10:45 a.m. Traditional Service, featuring the Chancel Choir
Holy Communion
Holy Communion is served on the first Sunday of every month in all three worship services.
All who seek to be served the sacrament of communion are welcome to join us at the communion railing. You do not have to be a member of Laurel Church, the United Methodist Church or any denomination. Our communion is open to children also.
Sacrament of Baptism
Baptism is the beginning of a lifelong faith journey. The United Methodist Tradition holds that everyone has received prevenient grace, which means that everyone has God's grace. Baptism of an individual is the response to God's grace. Thus, anyone may be baptized, including infants. Because of this covenant with God, baptism is forever and is not repeated.
At Laurel United Methodist Church, options are available for baptism. Please feel free to contact Reverend Jerry King regarding baptism.

Coffee Fellowship
Coffee Fellowship is in the Parlor just outside the Sanctuary between worship services. Please stay and join us in a cup of coffee or lemonade. We really want to take the time to know you.
Nursery Care
Nursery Care is available from 8:15 a.m. until Noon every Sunday. Children are always welcome to worship with their parents in the Sanctuary or in the Aquarium located on the third floor above the Sanctuary.
We try to make Nursery Care available for most other events. To make reservations for your child, talk to the group leader or call the church office.
Safe Sanctuary Church
Our church has adopted policies and procedures intended to protect children and youth from any risk of child abuse. Our goal is always to maintain a safe place where children and youth may experience God’s love and engage in learning.
