Remember local food pantries

It is summer time and kids are home from school.  This places a higher demand for food and other supplies on families.  Please bring donated items to church during business hours or on Sunday mornings.  Food may be placed in our Meal-A-Month box in the East door foyer.

Casseroles “R” Us

We continue to deliver casseroles to those in our church family who have experienced a hospitalization or an illness and are recovering at home.  This is one of the ministries of the Caring Ministry Team.

Because the demand for casseroles is sporadic, we offer a freshly made product rather than one that has been frozen for some time.  If you would be willing to make a small casserole (usually a 9x9 pan), please let us know and we will call you when the need arises.  If we call you at an inconvenient time, feel free to say no and we will contact someone else on the list.  We will be happy to pick up the casserole from you when it is ready and deliver it.  We will also provide recipes if you wish, or you can use your own.  We may also be able to tell you if the person to receive the casserole has any special dietary needs.  Disposable pans are available at the church by request.

Redbird Mission Needs Band Instruments

Redbird Mission, located in Beverly, Kentucky and an institution of the United Methodist Church within the Red Bird Missionary Conference, needs band instruments for its K-12 Christian School.

Do you have a band instrument that you would consider donating?  Carl’s Pro Band Instrument Repair in Bloomington, Illinois will donate any necessary repairs.

For more information:  http://www.rbmission.org or contact Joe Neisler at 309-825-8497.

Laurel Food Angels

Laurel volunteers deliver Meals on Wheels for one week every year.  Volunteers spend about an hour and a half picking up meals and delivering them to recipients.  Meals are fully prepared and maps are provided.
