WELCOME! You have found the website for Laurel United Methodist Church in Springfield, Illinois.
In September, Rev. Kent Lolling will be doing a three-part series called, “How is it possible?,” based on three texts from Matthew. The Series will explore the themes of reconciliation, forgiveness, and peacemaking.
This Sunday, September 28, is our last of the series. The sermon title “Peacemaking: How is it possible?” will challenge us with the difficult action of peacemaking in a society filled with conflict. Based on the Beatitudes of Jesus (Matthew 5:9-12) and work from noted author Robert McAfee Brown, we will see why the work of dealing with injustice in society is so pivotal.
